2138470 - Performance Management Domain Report Shows HTML Tags In Front of Text

Symptom

A report built on the Performance Management domain shows HTML tags before the actual text for specific fields

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics
  • SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to the system
  2. Navigate to Home dropdown > Reporting
  3. Run the report or create a new report based on the Performance Management domain
  4. Some columns return values with additional characters before text e.g. '<p><font size="1">'
  5. When navigating to the form, the fields are displayed correctly

IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE PROCEEDING:

  • The report will show the data as plain text. It is not possible for the reporting tools to display data in rich text format.
  • If the text was copied from another program such as MS Word and data was pasted into the form, this behavior can happen even if the below setting is enabled

I. Confirm if Remove HTML tags for ad-hoc reporting on Performance Management v11. — requires “Rich text editor for PM and 360” is enabled in Provisioning

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Check Tool
  2. Under the System Health tab, look for the Application drop down and select Reporting > Go
  3. Check the box for HTML tags are appearing in different Ad Hoc report fields when the report is created using the Performance Management subdomain schema. (PMV11RemoveHtmlTagsCheck) > Select Run 1 Check
    1. If issues are not found, please have the users correct the data in the forms. There is no way for Product Support to correct this.
    2. If issues are found, the setting can be enabled from Provisioning by following the below steps

As a customer, you do not have access to Provisioning. Please engage a Certified Partner to implement the fix.  If you do not have an implementation partner, create a case for SuccessFactors Product Support under component LOD-SF-ANA-PRV with the following:

  • Data Center (URL of your login screen):
  • Company Instance ID (where to apply changes:
  • Setting to be enabled:

II. Steps to Enable This Setting in Provisioning

  1. Provisioning > Company Settings
  2. Use Ctrl + F and search for remove html
  3. Remove HTML tags for ad-hoc reporting on Performance Management v11. — requires “Rich text editor for PM and 360” will be the only option
  4. Check the check box > Scroll up to the top of Analytics and Dashboard Tabs & Misc Reporting > Select Save
  5. Enter the CompanyID > Confirm

Note:

Copying text from other programs can corrupt the form and sometimes it is not possible to fix it:

Please note that this kind of behavior can happen even when "Remove HTML tags..." is enabled if the text was copied from another program such as MS Word and data was pasted into the form. Unfortunately, if the issue persists there is no way for Product Support to correct this.
