2119806 - How does the 'Reset' button in the Notifications section of an item or class work?

• How the 'Reset' button in the item/class "Email Notifications" settings in the Learning admin section works.
• Does the "Reset" button in the Notification settings of an item/class  do anything?
• Is there any way, aside from manually editing the configuration at the item/class level, to restore the association between item/class notification configuration and the global template?

1. Access Learning Administration >
2. Access any Item or Class > 
3. Go to the "Email Notifications" tab >
   
4. Go to section 'Edit the Class Cancellation Notification for the Item' >
5. Make any changes to the body section and click on "apply the changes" >
6. Click on button "Reset".
   
   
7. The template is not reset / restored to the default template.

Standard system behaviour.

There is no automatic way to restore the association between the item notification configuration and the global template.

When you modify a system notification template ID, you update every item or class notification message that you have not modified and that uses the associated system notification template ID.
However, if you modify the notification for an item or class (in the Notifications tab), then you permanently break the link between the item/class notification and the system notification template ID.
Similarly, you can modify a notification message for a class by modifying the notification message for the item that it is based on.
If you modify the notification message for a class (on the Notifications tab), then you permanently break the link between the class notification and the item notification.

The Reset button in the item will only reset to the original values if you have not pressed 'Apply Changes' yet. Once this is done, the link to the global template is broken.
