2076791 - How to Clone/Copy a Form Template in Performance Management

Symptom

This KB article demonstrates how it is possible to clone or copy an existing PM form template via the Admin Center

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

Resolution

The following process is typically used when you are copying last years forms:

  1. Go to Admin Center > Performance Management > Manage Templates > Performance Review tab
  2. Select the Template Name link to be cloned or copied
  3. Click Save As and provide the Template Name and Description
  4. Click Save
  5. After the save completes you can make any modifications to this cloned template

Note: If this is an Annual Review please remember to update to the current Goal Plan.  Also, changing the Route Map associated with the new review form is needed, to keep the the permissions associated with the form be sure to make the Route Map change via the Form Template Settings

IMPORTANT:

  • The word Clone is used because this process is only recommended when you are sure no changes need to be made to your form. It is a true clone with just a new form name
  • A person with advanced xml editing skills could make minor changes, but it is not recommend to do so as this can render the forms unusable and have negative impacts on your business should it not be done correctly!
  • If changes to form template configurations need to be performed, please reach out to an SAP Partner
  1. When cloning a form the comments, titles, labels and msgKeys in the form will also be retained. This option may not work if you need to update section titles or hard-coded comments
  2. If the form is connected to a goal plan or other modules, the new form will still point to the old goal plan. Be sure to update those as needed
  3. If there are hard-coded competencies and you need to update them, it is possible to do this for PM v12A forms via Admin Center > Manage Templates
  4. If changing the Route Map associated with the new form template the permissions will be removed from the form
