1933781 - Unable to assign Sales Order to Projects.

When trying to assign Sales Order to Project the Project Task field itself is not available in the Sales Order.

1. Go to Sales Order work center.
2. Choose the Sales Order view.
3. Choose the Sales Order XYZ ( XYZ represents the sales order ID).
4. Choose the Edit button.
5. Navigate to Items tab.
6. Here you can see the Project Task field itself not available in the sales order.

If the Customer Projects is not scoped by disabling the check box for the question Do you use customer projects with an automated project invoicing process you can use projects of the type Customer project without sales integration and the system will allow you to link with the sales order and use for manual invoicing. You can integrate projects of type customer project without sales integration with sales order only if' Customer Projects is not in scope.

If the Customer Projects is scoped by choosing enabling the check box for the question Do you use customer projects with an automated project invoicing process you can use projects of the type Customer Project with Sales integrationto and the system will allow you to link with the sales order and use for manual invoicing. You can integrate projects of type customer project with sales integration only if' Customer Projects is in scope and you cannot use projects of the type Customer project without sales integration because Customer Projects is scoped system will not allow you to link the sales order with the project the project task field will not be shown up here.

If you want to use the Customer project without sales integration to link with sales order please Descope the Customer projects form Business Configuration if it is scoped.

Note : If there were projects that were created of type Customer project without sales integration when Customer Projects was in scope then such projects cannot be used later on to link to sales orders once
you De scopes Customer Projects you have to create the new one.

If you want to use the Customer project with sales integration to link with sales order please scope the Customer projects form Business Configuration.

Customer projects can be scoped and descoped by following these steps in a system :

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Choose the Implementation Projects view.
3. Choose Project and Choose Edit Project Scope button.
4. Go to Step 4 - Questions -> Project Management -> Project Planning and Execution -> Projects
5. To Descope Customer Projects in the system enable check box Do you use customer projects (without sales integration) with an automated project invoicing process? and disable the Check Box Do you use customer projects with an automated project invoicing process?
6. To Scope Customer Projects in the system enable check enable check box Do you use customer projects with an automated project invoicing process?
7. Complete all the steps until Confirm to save the changes made in system.
