1218839 - InvalidAliasCharList registry key is not recognized connecting through OLE DB

Symptom

Crystal Reports has a number of special characters that are not allowed to be used in table alias names. If you want to use one of these special characters or add other characters that cannot be used in table alias names, there is a registry key setting that will override the list of characters: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Database\InvalidAliasCharList.

In Crystal Reports XI, when connected to a database through OLE DB, this registry key is not recognized.

Cause

The issue has been identified and tracked under ID ADAPT00416800.
