2905930 - Connection from Information Design Tool to HANA with SAML fails with "authentication failed" error

Symptom

  • You have configured SAML single sign-on between SAP Business Objects 4.2 and HANA 2.0 as per KBA 2284620.
  • The connection test from the BI Central Management Console (CMC) is successful.
  • However the test from the Information Design Tool (IDT) as per point 5.6 of wiki SAML SSO for BI Platform to HANA fails with the following error:

Failed to create an instance of Job:
com.sap.db.jdbc.exceptions.SQLInvalidAuthorizationSpecExceptionSapDB: [10]: authentication failed
