Using the Position Management Transition Period feature, the incumbent (user A) of a higher level position is terminated. A replacement is hired (user b) using the Transition Period Feature. The position then has two incumbents during this time.
Once the original incumbent's (user A) termination date is reached the direct reports are not transferred to the new incumbent (user B), but instead are transferred based on the selection made during the original incumbents (users A) termination.
