2831084 - Server hangs after Signal 10 in ssl_nrpacket() - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The ASE errorlog reports an "infected with signal 10" error in the module ssl_nrpacket():

Current process (0x0) infected with signal 10 (SIGBUS)
Current Process is running on a Non-Engine Thread
Address 0x0000000081a52140 (ssl_nrpacket+0x2fcc), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x001ffff88d290489)
...
Run to completion task iocRunController+0xfffffffffb1d1760(13d3350) exception 10

  • Which hangs the ASE server.
  • The error is followed by a stack trace that, depending on OS, includes routines like:

krtctskException
ssl_nrpacket
ksmask_rpacket
kstcpnetctlrProcessRead
kssolnetctlrWaitForCompletion
ksmask_rdahead
iocRunController
