2807020 - jConnect fails to login to ASE with MIT Kerberos when charset conversion is unavailable - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Adaptive Server is configured with MIT Kerberos for identification and authentication, and "enable unicode conversion" configuration parameter is 0.
  • When a jConnect application with the following settings tries to connect to the Adaptive Server, a SQLException with JZ00L is raised and the login attempt fails.
    • CHARSET connection property is set to a different charset from the server's charset and character set conversion is not available between the jConnect's charset and the server's charset.
    • REQUEST_KERBEROS_SESSION connection property is set to true.
    • SERVICE_PRINCIPAL_NAME connection property is set to a value corresponding to the server entry in Key Distribution Center (KDC).
