2697077 - Error 102 and 11031 from bigdatetime column raised after upgrade - SAP ASE

Symptom

After upgrading to a new version the error message 102 and 11031 are seen when accessing a table with certain conditions

  • The table is a round robin partitioned table
  • The table has a clustered index
  • One of the clustered index keys has datype bigdatetime

After the upgrade, the following messages can be seen while accessing the table:

1> select * from <dbname>..<tablename>
2> go
Msg 102, Level 15, State 181:
Server 'ASE', Line 1:
Incorrect syntax near 'Jan'.
Msg 11031, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'ASE', Line 1:
Execution of unknown type ptncond_1712006099_0 failed because of errors parsing
the source text in syscomments during upgrade. Please drop and recreate
dbo.ptncond_1712006099_0.
Msg 208, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'ASE', Line 1:
<dbname..tablename> not found. Specify owner.objectname or use sp_help to check whether
the object exists (sp_help may produce lots of output).

Running dbcc upgrade_object is unable to repair the partition condition.
