2680917 - BPC NW: MDX statement error: Syntax error: Syntax Error : ..., row #, item: #' after BW kernel upgrade

Symptom

After an SAP kernel upgrade (to 754, 753 or 749), the following errors or incorrect behavior occurs when using various BPC functions (this list may be incomplete):

  • EPM Add-in reports or input schedules.
  • BPC Web reports or input schedules.
  • BPC Script Logic (i.e., K2 script) or any related Data Manager Packages.
  • The Controls function of both BPC Standard and BPC Embedded.
  • Member formula administration.
  • Script logic administration.
  • Running consolidation business rules such as currency translation or automatic adjustments.
  • Running processes from the Consolidation Monitor such as Run Currency Translation and Run Consolidation. 

Error:

  • bad request. Server message: code: UJO_READ_EXCEPTION_018
  • severity: error
  • description:MDX statement error: Syntax error: Syntax Error : ..., row #, item: #'
  • MDX Interface BAPI SelectData CL_RSO_APPLICATION_LOG========CP Batch processing Message No. BRAINOLAPAPI153

This error message can be found in the SLG1 log, the EPM Add-in pop-up error window or BPC Data Manager package execution logs.
