2669566 - Package body DBMS_SQLPATCH is INVALID

Symptom

  • While performing any action that checks for invalid objects like applying a patch or performing a pre_upgrade_check, you notice that package body DBMS_SQLPATCH is invalid. Running the scripts catproc.sql, catalog.sql and utlrp.sql didn't validate the object.
  • When you try to recompile the object manually, the following is shown:

Warning: Package Body altered with compilation errors.

  • You proceed to type 'show errors' and the following errors are displayed:

Errors for PACKAGE BODY SYS.DBMS_SQLPATCH:
PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "PATCH_DIRECTORY": invalid identifier
PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "INSTALL_ID": invalid identifier
