You are performing an upgrade or update using SUM, when below error occurs in any phase:
RFC login to system <SID> ashost <hostname> nr <In. nr> gwhost <hostname> gwservice sapgw<nr> failed
with code 3 key CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL: Incomplete logon data.
When you check in ST22, you find a dump like below:
Category Installation Errors
Runtime Errors CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL
Date and Time <Date> <Time>
The logon data for the user "DDIC " is incomplete.
If, during an RFC (Remote Function Call), an explicit user
or an explicit client is requested, you must enter an explicit
password for the user (see Transaction SM59).
Other related dumps that can occur at the same time : CALL_FUNCTION_SINGLE_LOGIN_REJ, CALL_FUNCTION_SYSCALL_ONLY, CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_REJECTED.
