SPNego has been previously configured on the system and was used successfully to SSO onto the NetWeaver Java server. After some change on the system, such as patching NW Java or upgrade, SSO to the system is no longer possible. No prompt for username/password appears either. Access the latest security_xx.x.log under directory usr/sap/<sid>/<instanceID>/j2ee/cluster/serverx/log/system and see failed logon similar to this:
