2573783 - Query with hash join returns wrong results - SAP ASE 16.0 SP02

Symptom

  • HASH JOIN returns wrong result when SELECT list has off-row text column while NULL should be returned.
  • In the following query, datalength(dbinfo) has to return NULL, but a non-NULL value is returned:

1> select prow_uid, field_number, datalength(dbinfo)
2> from prowdx_fldmast f, prowfldmast m
3> where f.webprod_name = 'prowessiq'
4> and f.tab_no = 70
5> and f.prow_version = m.version
6> and f.prow_uid = m.field_number
7> and f.prow_version = 'prowint'
8> order by f.indent_code
9> plan "(use hash_join on)"
10> go |grep 4827
        4827         4827         352
                                      ***** wrong value
