Symptom

  • When running DBCC checks
  • Errors 2540 and 2521 are reported on system and/or user tables:
       
    Msg 2540, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'xxxxxx', Line 1:
    Table Corrupt: Page is allocated but not linked. Run DBCC TABLEALLOC to correct the problem. (allocation page#=260096, extent id=260192, logical page#=260197,
    object id in extent=24, object name=sysstatistics, index id in extent=0)
         
    Msg 2521, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'xxxxxx', Line 1:
    Table Corrupt: Page is linked but not allocated. Run DBCC TABLEALLOC to correct the problem. (allocation page#=259328, extent id=259352, logical page#=259359,
