When customer were running ASE 15.x on Redhat 5 and using with tmpfs filesystem devices were not able to use async i/o.
While initializing the devices the below messages were reported:
00:00000:00001:2006/12/15 11:47:17.98 kernel Virtual device
'/dev/shm/tempdb.dat' does not support kernel asynchronous i/o. Synchronous i/o will be used for this device.
