Symptom

WannaCry (or WannaCrypt, WanaCrypt0r 2.0, Wanna Decryptor) is a ransomware/malware program, targeting Microsoft Windows operating systems.

On May 12, 2017, WannaCry began to affect computers worldwide.

This Cyber attack uses a SMB protocol bug (SMB version 1.0) in unpatched Microsoft Windows versions.

You need to apply MS17-010 patch and want to know whether SMBv1 can be disabled completely?

Note:
Microsoft released also a patch for Windows Server 2003, even if this OS is not supported by Microsoft and SAP anymore.

Windows Server 2016 is not affected by this bug.
