2451118 - Profile Installation Failed on iOS 10.3 or above when enrolling using self-signed root certificate

Symptom

  • Enrollment does not work when the Root CA certificate is manually installed on iOS devices.
  • Cannot Verify Server Identity message appears when browsing to an HTTPS enrollment link:

  • When you trust the certificate by selecting "Details" in above message, then the Profile Installation Failed error occurs during BootstrapEnrollment
