2404881 - Fatal table corrupt due to cross-platform migration - SAP ASE


  • During the cross-platform Prod DB migration (from 12.5.4 Solaris to 15.7 SP136 HF1 Linux)
  • Fatal table corruption has been thrown in the suspect index list warning from sp_post_xpload and sp_indsuspect commands.
  • Can't run DBCC REINDEX as suggested (Msg 605)
  • Can't access table data with select into or truncate table(Msg 12315) in the target ASE DB 15.7. 
  • ASE 12.5.4 source DB table is fully accessible
    Msg 605, Level 16, State 1:
    Server 'ASE', Line 1:
    An attempt was made to fetch logical page '766408' from cache 'default data
    cache'. Page belongs to database 'ActDbCntc' (8), object 'BusEntTb'
    (1985858587), index 'BusEntTbIx2' (2), partition 'BusEntTbIx2_1985858587'
    (1985858587) and not to database 'ActDbCntc' (8), object 'AddrCntcTb'
    (1100530954), index 'AddrCntcTb' (-1), partition 'AddrCntcTb_1100530954' (1100530954).
    REINDEX received an exception - command aborted.
    DBCC execution completed. If DBCC printed error messages, contact a user * System Administrator (SA) role.
  • Msg 12315, Level 21, State 1:
    Server 'ASE', Line 1:
    Corrupt page, Internal error: Mismatch between tail timestamp 'ec48' and the low
    two bytes of timestamp in the page header '48ec' while accessing page '8568824'
    of object '1100530954' in database '8'. Please contact Sybase Technical Support.
    ASE is terminating this process.
