2369004 - iOS Fiori Client integration issues with Mobile Iron AppTunnel error "AppConnect chromium Tunneling protocol removed from NSURLSessionConfiguration.protocolClasses by the user" - FC/KAP

Symptom

  • iOS Fiori client is attempting to establish a connection to the Fiori front end server behind the firewall via Mobile Iron AppTunnel (per-app-vpn service).
  • User is seeing the following error message:

2016-09-15 10:18:49.210 FioriClient[1480:495922] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'AppConnect Chromium Tunneling Protocol Registration', reason: 'AppConnect chromium Tunneling protocol removed from NSURLSessionConfiguration.protocolClasses by the user. Please read AppConnect for iOS SDK App Developers Guide.'

  • The application isn't getting authorized and not getting its Mobile Iron AppConnect configurations (including Mobile Iron AppTunnel Rules).  Mobile Iron AppTunnel works by registering a custom NSURLProtocol subclass to NSURLSession -- see https://developer.apple.com/reference/foundation/nsurlsessionconfiguration/1411050-protocolclasses?language=objc
