Here is the explanation of certain aspects of an employee central expat's data or behavior at other modules such as PM GM (performance & goal management):
Where would the employee will have built his objectives, could be in the host or home profile, that is mean one could not see the objectives of his employees at all even if it's completed by the employee.
1Answer : When an employee is on a Global Assignment, a HOST account is created, which is basically a separate UserID. This means the HOST assignment can have its own Job Info and Comp Info data. This means that when you raise a PM form, you can raise it either for their HOME or HOST accounts, or both. Same logic applies to Goal Plans (PM forms and Goal Plans are created against UserID).
The performance form will be launch in which job? Can it be possible that the objectives would have been built in the home and the form will be launch in the host profile? What is expected when when the employee is coming back from an assignment.
Answer : The Performance form wil be launched based on the launch criteria selected. For example - if you launch forms based on the EP field Location - it will created PM forms for all users with that EP "Location" value in the Basic User Data file. The forms will get created for all UserID's with that Location value. Therefore the customer needs to consider what criteria they use when raising forms, and whether they want to raise forms for HOME / HOST or both.If the employee has Goals set and then goes on a Global Assignment, Goals will need to be set for that Global Assignment. There is a switcher when viewing the employee where you can switch between assignments/employments.
With compensation, the performance result can appear in the home profile but the salary is in the host profile, so the annual salary increase process do not work at all.
Answer : The same applies to Compensation forms. If the customer has Compensation Integration to EC, then the form is raised based on the Comp Info for that user account (based on UserID). It will then (when raising the Comp form and based on its configuration) pull data from EC Comp Info as the PM form linked to that UserID. In terms of how best to manage these processes on customer side, there are many options, but may be best to engage with a implementation Partner or Professional Services, to determine what might be the best practice for their business needs.
How Succession will be impacted and behave?
4) Succession is different to the 2 above integrations. Even though HOME and HOST accounts have a different UserID - all "Background Information" data in EP (which is used for Succession) is store only against the HOME account. But the standard EP data (from basic user data file) is stored against the HOME and HOST account. When using Succession I would expect that Succession would return results for both Home and Host accounts - but any Background data differentiators (like Langauges, Education, Geographic Mobility) wil cme from the HOME account.
