2270092 - MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHDDEL2/SHDUNINST_DB - Objects left in the Shadow Schema

Symptom

You are running an upgrade on an SAP system that runs on Oracle and an error occurs during the step MAIN_SHDIMP/SUBMOD_SHDDEL2/SHDUNINST_DB, SUM tool fails with the following error message.

Error message extracted from SAPupConsole.log: brconnect exited with 5

Could not drop database shadow user 'SAP<SID>SHD', see logfile 'SHDUNINST.LOG'

When you check file SHDUNINST.LOG, you find that it failed as below:

BR0301E SQL error -1922 at location drown_main-1, SQL statement:

'/* BRCONNECT */ DROP USER "SAPR3SHD"'

ORA-01922: CASCADE must be specified to drop 'SAPR3SHD'

BR1338E Dropping database owner SAPR3SHD failed
