Symptom

  • sp_locklogin hits two Errors 12322

Error: 12322, Severity: 21, State: 3
Row 14 on DOL datapage 2306 in database 'xxxxx_db' has size 199 and an invalid holesize 0. Page is corrupted.

Error: 12322, Severity: 21, State: 3
Row 26995 on DOL datapage 2306 in database 'xxxxx_db' has size 10 and an invalid holesize 0. Page is corrupted

  • With a stacktrace that shows the following functions:

dol_gc_page_compact
dol_garbage_collect
dol__delete_insert
dol__update_datapage
dol_update

  • The same 12322 errors with no stacktraces are also reported by a system process  (most likely by a housekeeper process).
     
  • The DBCC CHECKDB command running on the master database reports Errors 9991 and 2306 for the syslogins system table:

Checking partition 'syslogins_33' (partition ID 33) of table 'syslogins'. The logical page size of this table is 2048 bytes.

Server 'ASExxxxx', Line 1:
Page 2306, partition ID 33, of object 33, contains an orphan row at offset 867 which must be marked committed delete and is not.
