2174189 - Incident description field restricted to 40 Characters in CRM WEB UI

Symptom

  • Incident was created from SAP GUI using Help --> Create Support Message with description of 60 characters, but in CRM WEB UI, it only shows 40 characters.
  • Field type BCOS_SHTXT is 60 Characters long in the managed systems but the description field in Solution Manager is restricted to 40 Characters only.
  • Description in table CRMD_ORDERADM_H is also restricted to 40 characters only.
