2171051 - Error 2809 is raised incorrectly by cross-database query.

Symptom

Cross-database query encountered following error message - If the current database (db5) has a procedure with the same object id as view V1 in the other database (db6) in a cross-database query, error 2809 is raised.
  • For example:
  • 1>insert db6..V1 select * from (select '0' as 'c' from master..sysobjects) t
  • 2>go
  • Msg 2809, Level 18, State 2: Server 'rel16_05_bret_sun2_utf8', Line 2:The request for view 'db5.dbo.P4' failed because 'db5.dbo.P4' is a procedure object.
