2135239 - Error 644, Severity 21 when loading database from 15.0.3 ASE to 16.0 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Loading database from ASE 15.0.3 to ASE 16.0 reports a 644 error:

Server Message: Number 644, Severity 21
Server 'SYBASE', Line 1:
Index row entry for data row id (170, 5) is missing from index page 66595 of index id 2 of table 'sysobjects' in database '<database>'. Xactid is (213909,17). Drop and re-create the index.

  • Other 34xx errors may appear in the error log:

Database '<database>': beginning upgrade step [ID 75]: executing SQL
statement ("update syscolumns set type=66, user...")
(4 rows affected)

Server Message: Number 3449, Severity 10
Server 'SYBASE', Line 1:
Database '<database>': beginning upgrade step [ID 6]: alter table (table syspartitions)

Server Message: Number 3461, Severity 20 Server 'SYBASE', Line 1:

Database '<database>': upgrade could not install required upgrade item '6'.
Please refer to previous error messages to determine the problem. Fix the problem, then try again.

Server Message: Number 3452, Severity 20
Server 'SYBASE', Line 1:
Database '<database>': upgrade item 1650 depends on item 6, which could not be installed. Please refer to previous messages for the cause of the failure, correct the problem and try again.

Server Message: Number 3451, Severity 20
Server 'SYBASE', Line 1:
Database '<database>': upgrade has failed for this database. Please refer to previous messages for the cause of the failure, correct the problem and try again.

Server Message: Number 3454, Severity 20
Server 'SYBASE', Line 1:

Server Message: Number 3445, Severity 10
Server 'SYBASE', Line 1

Database '<database>': ASE could not completely upgrade this database;
upgrade item 1650 could not be installed.
