Symptom

When executing RFC Connection (Type T), you get the following error:

Error when opening an RFC connection
ERROR: Error (Msg EGW                  748 not found)
LOCATION: SAP-Server <server name> on host <hostname> (wp <nr>)
COMPONENT: CPIC
RETURN CODE: 748

The work process trace file (dev_wp<nr>) shows:

In the Syslog (transaction SM21), you can find: “R3 7 Error in T100, MSG: 748”

This applies for destinations that are configured with "Registered Server Program" as the "Activation type" on the "Technical Settings" tab page in transaction SM59.

RFC “Connection Test” may work from one server but it does not work from other/s.
