2023036 - Web Intelligence Rich Client APPCRASH or does not launch

Symptom

After installing BI 4.0 Client tools, Web Intelligence Rich Client, Universe Design Tool and Widgets do not launch or throw an error message.

One of the following may happen:

  • When launching the application, there is nothing displayed to the screen.
  • An error message:

    "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise has stopped working"
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Faulting application WebIRichClient.exe, version 14.0.6.1036, time stamp 0x516362e8, faulting module TraceLog-4-0.dll, version 6.0.6002.18541, time stamp 0x4ec3e39f, exception code 0xc0000135, fault offset 0x0006f52f, process id 0xde8, application start time 0x01cf79b7b2bdad9f.
