1923730 - CheckOut SubCapacity license fails if Windows VM has more than one NIC - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE can not check out a sub-capacity license with a SYBASE_SAM_CAPACITY code (which was generated by sysamcap command on the control domain) if a Windows Virtual Machine (VM) has 2 or more Network Interface Cards (NICs).
  • The following message gets printed in the ASE errorlog:

The SYBASE_SAM_CAPACITY licensing capacity setting is not intended for this system. This machine partition or virtual machine does not appear to be part of the machine from which the SYBASE_SAM_CAPACITY value was obtained.
