Symptom

  • During an update using the Software Update Manager (SUM) the phase DETECT-SOURCE-PRODUCTS finishes in error
  • At the end of the log file DETECT-SOURCE-PRODUCTS_x.log you see the following information:

Contend of the file <dir_put>/SUM/sdt/config/ProductMapping.xml loaded.
[Error ]: The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.j2ee.tools.usages.DetectProductException: SUM did not find any active products in your SAP system. Possible reason might be that key software components, used for detecting SAP products, were undeployed from the system.
