During a Heterogeneous System Copy (OS/DB Migration), Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) / SAPinst stops with the following message after the Migration Key is provided:

Pop Up Message Box
The migration key for a heterogeneous system copy is wrong. 
SOLUTION: Enter a valid migration key.



  • Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) or old Installation Media
  • Systems based on SAP NetWeaver or old R/3 releases
  • Database independent
  • Operating System independent
