You are using the General Attribute Maintenance Infotype 1222 and its inheritance feature to store attributes data of organizational units in your organizational structure. You are confused about how the system manages attribute inheritance when splits exist in infotype 1222.
When the inheritance is used in the attribute of a parent organizational unit, it allows the corresponding child organizational units and positions to dynamically obtain the attribute value which is assigned to the parent, while at the same time, no data for this attribute is really being saved in the child objects.
