1500150 - Troubleshooting SAP SSO issues from BI to BW, in XI 3.x and BI 4.x products

  • SNC is setup in the SAP system with sapcrypto
  • Troubleshooting is for server trust only (client SNC is outside the scope of this KB)
  • Troubleshooting is the same if logging in to infoview with enterprise/LDAP/AD
  • Virtually all configuration errors will result in the following error from webi "Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data.. (WIS 10901)
  • Since SAP SSO is possible in some cases with cached credentials to verify if you have an SNC or STS issue or need to configure SNC/STS we have created 2 new KBA's to verify
  • KBA 1861652 - How-to: Create a hard coded OLAP connection within the CMC If the issue is resolved by this then you need to look at your SSO connection
  • KBA 1767629 - Is my SAP SSO connection working (configured with STS) This test can be done for both STS and SNC, it prevents cached credentials from making it appear SNC or STS is working intermittently

Prior to troubleshooting SNC the following must prerequisites must be met

  1. SAP integration kit installed, roles mapped, SAP users (that will be used for SNC) can login to infoview
  2. When logging into infoview with SAP accounts SSO to webi or crystal reports works fine (if not this should be fixed by webi or admin team)
  3. enterprise, LDAP or Active Directory alias that is logging into infoview should must be attached to the SAP account (the one tested with SSO above) in the CMC
