3121549 - Password reset and or unlock a business User

Symptom

 You locked a business user and are requesting for that user to be unlocked and or for the password to be reset.

Environment

  • SAP Business by Design
  • SAP Cloud for Customer

Resolution

SAP has a very strict data protection and security policy to protect Customer data and System access. Please ensure that there is an Administrator or key user available at all times on your end with access to the business user view to unlock users and who can set temporary passwords.

There might be a scenario where all users get locked by accident.

In such a case you can provide SAP support with that admin/ key user's name and request for SAP to unlock and also reset that user's password.

Important Info: we will ONLY send the password to the e-mail related to, and maintained for, this particular user. SAP will never share a business user's password on the phone (unless the identity of the caller being the same as the business user owner is confirmed and clear). SAP will never send even a temporary password to a random e-mail address that is not already maintained in connection to that same user in the system.

If you cannot provide or fulfill this, you need to contact your SAP CEE (Customer Engagement Executive) or SAP Representative who then gets in touch with the support to process the request.

Please understand that those strict rules are in the interest of data protection and Application-User Security.
