3111993 - How to Upload Two Intermediate Certificates in CSB - Recruiting Marketing

Symptom

Some certificate authorities (CA) provide two intermediate certificates when renewing or installing the certificate for the first time.

In this article we are going to show how to combine two intermediate certificates in one file since CSB SSL Certificates tab only accepts one intermediate certificate file to be uploaded.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing (RMK)

Resolution

Please follow the below steps to combine two intermediate certificates in one file so that this file can be used to upload to CSB > Tools > SSL Certificates tab.

  1. Open the first intermediate file: right click the file and select to open this certificate with a Word Processor application (e.g. Notepad or Text Editor) so that your editor appears similar to the screenshot below:
  2. At the end of the document insert a line break by pressing "Enter."
  3. Open the second intermediate file and Copy/Paste: Open the second file in a manner similar to step 1. Once opened, copy the all contents and paste all the contents to the end of the first intermediate so it appears as captured below (Hint: you’ll know if you did this right if you see an END CERTIFICATE as well as BEGIN CERTIFICATE)
  4. Save as one file: proceed to save this file with a name that is  easily identifiable such as www.domain.com.CABundle.crt so you can find this with ease during the installation process.
