3078777 - SFAPI CompoundEmployee error HTTP 500 - Unexpected EOF in prolog

Symptom

You are observing intermittently errors in your SFAPI CompoundEmployee query or queryMore operations.

In the CPI side, you will observe errors like:

  • com.sap.it.rt.adapter.sfsf.wsclient.SfsfWsClientFaultException: Problem during invoking SuccessFactors Web service. SOAP faultCode SOAP-ENV:Client, faultString Error reading XMLStreamReader., errorCode null, errorMessage: null, cause: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxEOFException: Unexpected EOF in prolog at [row,col {unknown-source}]: [1,0]

This error can happens with Boomi, Employee Central payroll or any middleware calling the SFAPI CompoundEmployee.

In the internal SuccessFactors logs, you will find responseCode="500" and searching by the request ID, you will find errors like:

  • ERROR caught throwable java.util.ConcurrentModificationException
