3068146 - How to Remove Obsolete Product Specifications from the drop-down List in Purchase Order?

Symptom

You are creating a purchase order and at item level, you can also see the product specification IDs that have status Obsolete in the product specification drop-down list.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Purchase Requests and Orders

  2. Select view Purchase Orders

  3. Create a purchase order and navigate to Items tab

  4. Enter the product id

  5. Now select the field Product Specification ID. The product specification drop-down shows obsolete values as well.

Cause

This is a limitation and at the moment, all the product specification IDs irrespective of status will be displayed in the value help of the product specification field in purchase order.

Resolution

As a work-around, you can put in your own query for this in the purchase order screen. If you open the advanced filter on the value help/drop-down list, there you can add the relevant status you want to see and Save, and then Select 'Use as Default Query' .
