3050557 - ASE may quit with only the message "Unknown reason" in the errorlog or you may see signal 11 stacktrace in routine Nsql::Close()

Symptom

  • Clients receive 712 "insufficient heap memory" errors
  • On windows the ASE may silently quit
  • There will be a message in the errorlog which simply says:

    Unknown reason

  • On other platforms there may also be a signal 11 stacktrace in the errorlog including the functions: Nsql::Close, PtlSqlx::ToSqlx, ToSqlx, bi__tosqlx
