3049115 - Fiori: Opening WebGUI tiles fail on second access, but succeeds on first access

Symptom

When opening a WebGUI application via Fiori the first time, the application opens, but when reopening the same or further WebGUI applications, the application never loads.

Additional symptoms that can help recognize this specific problem:

  • Fiori Launchpad shows busy spinning circle indefinitely
  • The URL in the address bar shows the application's intent, as if it had loaded
  • In the WebGUI request made by the Fiori Launchpad, the following parameter is passed: sap-keepclientsession=1
  • When opened in a new tab, the WebGUI request gives the following error:
    400 Session Timed Out
    Session no longer exists
  • When set to a high logging level, the console log shows the following message:
    Sending postMessage {"type":"request","request_id":"<request ID>","service":"sap.gui.triggerCloseSessionImmediately","body":{}} to application container 'application-<semantic object>-<semantic action>' -
