3048799 - xp_cmdshell gives error 7215 on Linux - SAP ASE

Symptom

After installing ASE on RHEL7, including XP-server, getting error 7215 after startup :

Error: 7215, Severity: 18, State: 1
Can't send to site 'servername'.


When executing xp_cmdshell, getting error 7205:


xp_cmdshell date
go
Msg 7205, Level 17, State 2:
Server 'servername', Procedure 'xp_cmdshell', Line 8:
Can't open a connection to site 'servername'. See the error log file in the ASE boot directory.
(return status = -8)

ASE log reports:

kernel XP Server timed out. Check XP Server errorlog file.
kernel XP Server failed to start. Try bringing up XP Server manually. Check ASE documentation for more information on how to bring XP Server up.
kernel nspacket: send, Connection refused
Error: 7215, Severity: 18, State: 1
server Can't send to site 'servername'.
