In a Sales Quote, it's not possible to create a follow-up Contract, because the New button is grey out.

Reproducing the Issue
- Open Sales Quote 123 (123 represents the quote ID)
- Navigate to Sales Documents tab.
- Under Contracts section, the New button is grey out so that you cannot create a new contract.
One possible reason is, Sales quote 123 is inconsistent (can be checked in "Consistency Status" field in Header) which forbids creation of a follow-up contract. Generally, there is an error message if a quote is inconsistent which is not the case here. This can occur if the error was caused by problems with master data, e. g. the account or product.
If this master data are then corrected, the issue is solved and no error is raised anymore in the quote. However, as the consistency status is persisted, it needs to be update.
The Consistency Status refresh can be triggered by a dummy change. For instance, enter something in any field and press Enter. Then remove the entry again. Due to this, consistency status is redetermined and the New button to create a follow-up contract will be enabled.
