3040403 - Comment is linked to the wrong hierarchy level in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

Add comment to different level of time hierarchy in the page filter, then change the hierarchy level of the page filter, notice that wrong comment is displayed, for example, the comment added to the child level is displayed at the parent level.

This issue can be reproduced in the sample story "Sample - Revenue Analysis".

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2021.5.3

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the story "Sample - Revenue Analytsis" and switch to edit mode.
  2. Add a new canvas page.
  3. Add a comment widget.
  4. Add a page filter using Date dimension and select "filter by range".
  5. Change type to "Fixed" and hierarchy to "Year, Half-Year, Quarter, Month"
  6. In the Settings for Users part, select "Single Value Slider" and click OK.
  7. Click the page filter and change the hierarchy level to "Quarter".
  8. Then add a comment in the comment widget, like "2014Q1".
  9. Chang the page filter value to "2014 Q4" by sliding.
  10. Add a comment, like "2014Q2", do the same things for Q3 and Q4.
  11. Then change the hierarchy level to Half Year, notice that the comment can still be seen.
