This article gives a brief overview about the differences how the rehire mechanism works in Employee Central and in Onboarding 2.0.
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0
- Why does the rehire of onboarding not check the termination date of people in EC and only look to the inactive users. The rehire check of EC looks to be different/stronger than the one from onboarding.
The future dated terminations are not supported in Onboarding as of now. Short explanation: In case of Onboarding the access is based on an external user and we cannot have separate login for that purpose, in case of EC there is no separate login.
- Is it a possible to completely disable this rehire check in Onboarding and use only the Rehire Inactive Employee page? Or the only way would be using the Configure a check using the Hire/Rehire Configuration generic object so the candidate wouldn't match?
If Onboarding flow is to be used then it is not recommended to disable the Rehire check in Onboarding, the flow will get blocked in MPH page. If they are able to identify Rehires early (if possible) then they could bypass onboarding if that is not needed and rehire directly in EC. This aspect could be discussed with the implementation consultants as there are multiple factors to be considered. Also attached is a schematic that can help explaining the rehire process.
