An email or printout output request is created for a service order, and the dispatch time of the output item is defined as Immediately. However, the status of the output item remains In Preparation.
You have checked that the service order have no errors, is released, and is saved.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Manage Order Service app.
- Open the service order.
- Go to Output Control tab.
- The status of the output item remains In Preparation.
This is the standard behavior of the output control feature in the Manage Service Orders app. The status of an output item determines the actions that you can perform. All unprocessed output items have the status In Preparation. This means that the item is ready to be output. You can still edit your output item.
There are two different ways to trigger the sending of the output item for processing:
- In the Manage Service Orders app, go to the Output Control tab, select the output item with the status In Preparation, and choose Send Output.
The status of the output item changes to To Be Output, which means that your output item has been marked for output and is being processed according to the defined dispatch time:
Shortly after that, the status changes to Completed if the output item has been sent successfully or to Error in case of an error with the output item:
- In the Manage Output Items app, select the corresponding output item with the status In Preparation, and choose Send:
The statuses of the output items and the possible actions work in the same way as in the Manage Service Orders app.
