3021802 - Enterprise Project migration gives errors DMC_RT_MSG231 and DMC_RT_MSG039

Symptom

In app "Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit" when migrating Enterprise Projects you receive errors:

  • DMC_RT_MSG231 System error occurs when calling function module in target system
  • DMC_RT_MSG039 System error (portion &1, conversion object &4, at &3)

Environment

  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2011
  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2102

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Migrate Your Data app
  2. Migration Object "Enterprise Project"
  3. Loading projects gives errors:
  • DMC_RT_MSG231 System error occurs when calling function module in target system
  • DMC_RT_MSG039 System error (portion &1, conversion object &4, at &3)

Cause

Program error

Resolution

This is a known issue which is fixed in CE2105.

Two potential workarounds are available until CE2105 is available

  1. Use app "Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit (old)" to migrate "Enterprise Projects"
  2. In the migration file, sort the "Work Package ID" column in ascending sequence and in the "Sort Number" column input an ascending number series starting from 2 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.).
