3017568 - Safari browser prompt to download ping in middle of the course and also when module closes

Symptom

Users might get pop up prompt to download ping before launching the course (in structure page) in the middle and also when closing the course.

This is happening while accessing the course from iPad-safari browser.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning
  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to BizX SuccessFactors Foundation using Safari browser in iPad
  2. Navigate to Learning Learning User page
  3. User will get a pop up prompt to download ping

Cause

 
 
 
 

Resolution

As a workaround change the configuration property in the Bizx config file in LMS following these steps:
  1. navigate to Learning Administration > System Administration > Configuration
  2. open the Bizx property file and search for "successFactorsServerPingPath="
  3. replace the value after the "=" to sf/ping2 (successFactorsServerPingPath=sf/ping2)
  4. click Apply changes
 
A Permanent fix is tentatively planned by engineering to be deployed in 2 weeks PTCH-35017
Note: After the patch is released no need to revert or change back the configuration performed as part of the workaround.
