3010659 - [The Latest Home Page ] Error "Fail to save the custom card, please try again later." displayed when creating a custom card from manage home page

Symptom

After upgrading to New Homepage UI, "Fail to save the custom card, please try again later." displayed when creating a custom card from manage home page.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

In an instance which has upgraded to New Homepage,

  1. go to Admin Center > Manage Home Page
  2. create new custom card>in Step2, add title in English locale and in Japanese locale
  3. in step3 Navigation and choose the Popover > Type some text in Content window > switch language local language from English to Japanese >Click Save
  4. error will occur: "Failed to save the custom card please try again later."

Cause

The error happens because there is no popover content defined in the Japanese local language, but there is title defined in Japanese language.

There is validation on server side to see if both title and content are defined in the specified language. If there is only one defined, the error happens.

Resolution

As per design, if title is added for a specific language, the corresponding target popover content needs to be provided in the same language as well, and vice versa, when popover content is provided for a language, the title needs to be provided in the same language as well.

Please make sure the both card tile and card popover content are defined in one language.

There will be an enhancement to update the error message for admin.  The new message will alert that title is missing in locale for custom card with popover content, or that the translated content is missing if title was defined in multiple locales.

We will update this KBA when the enhancement implement date is confirmed.
