Symptom
- The partitioning is failing, because of memory issues which was caused by large tables.
- In this case it was an ACDOCA table, but can be any table with large number of records.
- If you collect the FSD, here you can find the Out of memory dump ,where you can see the following top allocator:
Top "M_HEAP_MEMORY" allocators (component, name, size). Ordered descending by exclusive_size_in_use.
1: Column Store Tables: Pool/ColumnStore/Main/Uncompressed 1.65tb (1698287448416b)
As we can see it almost reached the Global allocation limit:
The Global allocation limit is: GLOBAL_ALLOCATION_LIMIT (GAL) = 1.73tb (1932601048472b)
