2992301 - How to integrate SAP Jam with IBP (Integrated Business Planning)?

Symptom

Need to integrate SAP Jam with IBP for Collaboration.

Environment

  • SAP Jam Collaboration.
  • Integrated Business Planning (IBP).

Resolution

Pre-Requisites

  • Company Admin access in SAP Jam.
  • Access in IBP for any business user who can access Communication System and Communication Arrangements.
  • User with matching email address in both IBP and Jam.


Integration Steps

  1. Log in IBP and go to Communication Arrangement.



  2. Click New.



  3. Choose Communication Scenario SAP_COM_0026.



  4. Click Create (no need to make any changes to the default arrangement name at this point, since we will come back to this step later). 



  5. Click on Download to expand a drop down list, and download the Authentication and Signing certificates.



  6. Click Cancel to discard and delete this Communication Arrangement draft.




  7. Login to Jam and go to Jam Admin console.



  8. Go to Integrations -> SAML Trusted IDP, and click on Register your SAML Trusted IDP.



  9. Enter the IBP URL as IBP ID.



  10. Open the Signing certificate downloaded in Step 5, using any text editor like Notepad, and copy the full certificate text.



  11. Paste the copied certificate into the X509 Certificate (Base64) field in the new IDP.



  12. Ensure the Enabled checkbox is ticked.



     
  13. Click Register to save this trusted IDP.



  14. Now go to Integrations -> OAuth Clients, and click Add OAuth Client.



  15. Paste the IBP URL in the Name & Integration URL fields.



  16. Open the Authentication certificate downloaded in Step 5, using any text editor like Notepad, and copy the full certificate text.



  17. Paste the copied certificate into the X509 Certificate (Base64) field in the new Oauth Client, and click Save.



  18. Once the OAuth Client is saved, click on the View option for the same.



  19. Keep a copy of the Key value from the OAuth client.



  20. Go back to IBP, and access Communication Systems.



  21. Click New.



  22. Enter the Jam data center in Uppercase(e.g. JAM4, JAM2, JAM12 etc.) as System ID and System Name, and click Create.



  23. Put Host Name as the Jam data center URL (e.g. jam4.sapjam.com).



  24. Scroll down to "User for Outbound Communication" and click on the icon.



  25. Choose Authentication Method "OAuth 1.0".



  26. Enter the IBP URL as OAuth 1.0 Client ID, the Jam OAuth client key copied in Step 19 as Client Secret and click Create.|



  27. Save the Communication System.
  28. Just like in Step 1, go to Communication Arrangements again.



  29. Click New.



  30. Choose Communication Scenario SAP_COM_0026.



  31. Put the IBP URL as Arrangement Name and click Create.



  32. Proceed to select a Communication System, and choose the one created in Steps 21 to 27.




  33. Selecting the Communication System will auto-populate some of the data fields on screen.



  34. Click the Save button to save this Communication Arrangement. And this completes the integration.

To test if the integration is working

  1. Access the Collaboration app in IBP.



  2. If there is a matching user in Jam, the Collaboration app will load the Jam home page view.
